Noctvrna began as an idea about the night — but it has become something closer to a way of looking. The work gathered here isn't defined by the hour a photograph was taken. It's defined by a quality of attention: toward the moment when something ordinary — a stone, a face, a street — stops being only what it appears to be.

A rock face becomes a map. A man becomes a myth. A stranger's portrait suggests someone other than who they seem. That's the nocturnal spirit this project is named for — not darkness itself, but the half-seen, the ambiguous, the not-fully-revealed — found equally in a quarry in daylight or a square in Marrakech after midnight.

I work slowly and in small numbers. Each project here is a deliberately limited body of work — never everything shot, only what earns its place.
